This octopus inspired me while scuba diving in Cozumel, México.
Adrian was the dive master that day and knew where his compadre lived. At a depth of thirty feet, we watched this magnificent creature change the color and patterns of his skin. The sculpture is about the same size as the real sea monster. -

I’ve wanted to build a tall ship since I was a child. I love the lines on these old ships with their sleek, flowing silhouette.
The sails, the wind, and the sea.
There’s just something romantic and beautiful about these larger-than-life nautical giants.
It took a year to complete this complex piece.
I had to build it. -

I reached down toward the large iguana in Little Cayman. I was dangling a sweet and bright red cherry that I had scooped out of my frozen drink. He moved a lot faster than I had anticipated. His muscular body leapt up and snagged the cherry - and my fingers. I got my hand free quickly, but blood flowed, and a lesson was abruptly learned. Inspiration sometimes comes at interesting moments.
About John Pezze
Artistic expression is everywhere in south central Texas. I moved to Pflugerville in 2019 with the expectation of experiencing that vibrant art scene. Austin is a wonderland of talented and inspirational people. What a great place to grow as an artist!
I sculpt primarily with wire and glass beads. I think my art is unique in a way that allows me to explore all kinds of subject matter. My sculptures include animals, musical instruments, fish, automobiles, insects, ships, reptiles, plants and more. I get inspiration every day from this creative environment. I do commission work and love a good challenging subject but most of the sculptures I have created take weeks or months to complete. It is a labor of love for me. Please feel free to contact me by email if you are interested in my work.
